The Banff Centre

Codetent had the pleasure of being commissioned to develop a Oculus based Virtual Reality experience for “Convergence”, the sold out International Summit on Art + Technology held at The Banff Centre in Banff, Canada.

To say it was a success was an understatement! Our 4 minute demo had a line up of attendees waiting to experience it, all day long, for the entire length of the conference.

After the conference was over, Codetent was asked to come back in order to give the staff of The Banff Centre a chance to try it. Everyone from the President to the groundskeepers had a chance to try it, with the same excitement we got from the attendees.

The experience was created with a very specific purpose: to ease anyone, from age 9 to 90, into their first VR experience. While it is mainly an “on rails” experience, there are no jarring movements or “jump scare” tricks, the viewer simply sits back and enjoys the ride.

View the below video in the official YouTube app on your phone to get a glimpse of the VR experience. You’ll have full 360 degree control using just your phone! You can also pan around using your desktop computer as well.
